Ebony Necklace

This wonderful necklace can be worn hanging long and low, or looped together as the occasion or outfit demands. In northern Mozambique, rural artisans salvage scraps of mpingo wood - African blackwood - and convert them into lustrous wooden beads. Mpingo is the wood of choice for the world's finest woodwind instruments, and it turns and carves beautifully. Small creations like beads utilize bits of wood left over from other products, or branches washed up in riverbeds. Necklace is 45" long, comes with 13 beads and has a small metal fastener.
