Paper Mache Nesting Bowls

These unique papier maché bowls are made from bright red wrapping papers reflecting the patterns of traditional South African fabrics. Made by the artisan group "Wola Nani" they capture the spirit of the "Proudly South African" campaign, an effort to promote socially responsible South African businesses. The organization trains HIV positive women in income-generating skills while providing support and outreach to others struggling with the disease. Set of 3 nesting bowls include a large 10" bowl, medium 9 ½" bowl, and small 7" bowl, all 5 ½" high. Suitable for dry contents only.

South Africa
Wola Nani's mission is to provide services to people with HIV and AIDS and reduce the stigma faced by those with the disease. Through training, counseling, and family services, Wola Nani improves the quality of life for its community by reaching out to women and the poor who are traditionally marginalized. Global Goods Partners, a non-profit organization, imports fair trade products from Wola Nani and other artisan groups to help alleviate poverty and promote social justice in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
